Kyle Nahrebne

Christy Gentry has a twenty-plus year history with the Knox County Republican Party. In those twenty-plus years, she has volunteered wherever needed, she has campaigned for Republican Candidates, and she has led Republican clubs.

Christy is a firm believer in the importance of our Constitution and believes we must defend and protect it. Her conservative values are seen in her God-first, America-first attitude.

Christy’s Political History

A graduate of Mashall University, Christy and her husband, John, entered politics early in their marriage.  They were determined to make a difference in Knox County.

Christy is a 20-year member of the West Knox Republican Club and was formerly their club president. She is currently president of the Knox County Republican Women’s Club and has been working alongside Kyle Nahrebne to build this club into a vital force in Knox County politics.

Christy also currently holds the role of Knox County Republican Vice Treasurer. With her legal and administrative background, she is ideally suited for that role. For the last two years, she, along with Martin Ammons, has worked to keep party funds accountable and transparent.

It’s Been a Battle

Unfortunately, the past two years have been a frustrating time for she and the other conservative members of the Knox County Republican Party leadership. She has been frustrated by the unwillingness and inability of the chair and vice chair to secure physical headquarters for the party, particularly in the middle of a presidential election.

Everyone’s Vote Must Be Counted

She has been particularly agitated by the attempt of the current chair and vice chair to attempt to force through a precinct convention rather than the mass convention that will be held on March 29. She feels strongly that everyone’s vote is important and should count.

You can better understand that commitment to each individual person’s vote when you realize the lengths that Christy went to in order to ensure that her former husband’s final vote was counted.

Near the end of his battle against colon cancer, John’s desire was to be able to vote one final time at the Knox County Republican Party Convention. Despite John’s frail condition, Christy made that happen. John died less than two months later.

Knox County Republicans Must Elect True Conservative to Lead the Party

This is part of what drives Christy Gentry. She believes that it is vital for Knox County Republicans to elect true conservatives as the leaders of the party so everyone’s vote will count. This is why she hopes that you will put aside the endless “to-do” list, get up a little early on Saturday, and come out and vote.

The Knox County Republican Party Convention will be held March 29 at Rothchild’s Catering. Doors Open at 9am. No one will be admitted after 10am.
